Renovation in Smithfield, RI. This riverfront house was built in 1840 along the Woonasquatucket River.  The house was purchased as a foreclosed property. Only the outer shell remained and current zoning regulations prohibited any footprint expansion due to the floodplain proximity. The new owner wanted a very modern clean lines design for two bedrooms. The house is only 13 feet from the river's edge so the views are of primary importance.  Long lasting materials like metal roof, IPE wood deck, energy efficient windows and rain screen siding are but a few of the requirements. Estimated completion date Fall 2016.
